Awakened Souls - Chapter 2 - Sharp Teeth

Malachi pouted in his cell, with his hood up.

"What's with you guys, anyways? I'm just tryna get some food, and you come along and snatch me up! You just straight up kidnap me!" He exclaimed. Ezekiel huffed and looked inside the cell at the boy.

"Gems aren't food. People usually go for gold, or actual food," He responded.

"Well, you don't know me!"

Malachi stuck out his tongue and blew raspberries at him. Ezekiel looked towards the front.

"What, do you need proof?" Malachi taunted. He ran up to the bars and showed off his teeth.

"C'mon, just one gem, you metal crotch!" He taunted once more. Ezekiel looked back at him.

"No."

"What, are you scaaared?" Malachi teased, grinning.

"Fine!" The knight exclaimed as he gave the boy a stern look. "Stay," He commanded, as he walked away, out of the dungeon.

A while later, Ezekiel came back with one gem, a bright emerald. Malachi started to drool.

"Hand it over, c'moooon!!" He whined. Ezekiel rolled his eyes and opened the door to the cell carefully. He held the gem up above his head, and waited for a bit.

"Oh c'mon! How much harm can this do?! Just give me the gem already!" Malachi begged. Ezekiel rolled his eyes and threw the gem up into the air. Malachi caught the gem in the air, and ate it in a few bites. Ezekiel's eyes widened, and he stood back.

"You foul beast! Stand down!" Ezekiel exclaimed as he drew his sword. Malachi blinked a few times.

"Uh.. what?" He questioned, "What am I doing wrong?"

"What are you, a dragon?!" Ezekiel yelled as he pointed the sword at Malachi.

"H-hey, can't we talk this out like normal people?"

"You are not a normal boy.." He said as he came closer. Suddenly, Malachi dashed past him and ran out of the cell.

"Byehaveanicedayjerk!" Malachi screamed as he ran off.

"That.. that beast!" Ezekiel muttered.
